Wong Fei-hung (born Wong Sek-cheung with the courtesy name Tat-wun; 19 August 1847 – 17 April 1925) [2] was a Chinese martial artist, physician, and folk hero. His recent fame was due to becoming the protagonist of numerous martial arts films and television series.

(real life (apparently)) - The legends of Wong Fei-hung stated that Wong was taught drunken boxing by So Chan and they also stated that around the 1860s-1870s, Wong was recruited into the Black Flag Army as a medical officer and martial arts instructor by Cmdr. Liu Yongfu.

Wong Fei Hung (Cantonese) or Huang Fei Hong (Mandarin), was a real life person and Kung Fu Grand Master who lived in Foshan City. He was a renowned Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a Kung Fu Grand Master. He was supreme in the Hung Ga form of Kung Fu.

Wong Fei hung is credited with formalizing the orthodox Hung System and creating the styles’ most famous set, the “Tiger Crane Double Pattern Fist Form” (Fu Hok Seung Ying Kuen).

Wong's original given name was Sek-cheung or Xixiang (simplified Chinese: 锡祥; traditional Chinese: 錫祥; Mandarin Pinyin: Xīxiáng; Wade–Giles: Hsi-hsiang; Jyutping: Sek 3 -coeng 4) before it was changed to Fei-hung (Feihong).
