TRON: Legacy was a significantly better film then I remember
When TRON: Legacy came out, I remember the overall reaction to be relatively lukewarm. The movie did well at the box office but was already off people's radar a year after release. I gave the movie a rewatch recently, and I got to say, I'm quite surprised by both how good it was and how well the effects hold up.

It's a chore to get through, it's overly preoccupied with callbacks, and it's design aesthetic is the anti-thesis of a 80s computer world. TRON Legacy is waaaaay better and more interesting than people give it credit for. It's such a fascinating philosophical.....conundrum of sorts. Visuals were off the charts (aside from the deaging (since that was the first deaging Disney ever did). Score is basically unbeatable. On of the best of all-time. Wildly underappreciated phenomenal movie.

Nov 23, 2019 · A filmmaker has tweeted that a version of TRON Legacy supposedly exists, which has been upscaled to 4K UHD resolution (in 3-D, too). And, more importantly, that the de-aging CGI effect for CLU (and most likely Kevin Flynn as well, in the flashback at the start of the film) has been greatly improved. No more “uncanny valley” look for CLU.

Mar 22, 2023 · I watched Tron Legacy last night. The thing that confused me with CLU’s invasion plans is that the average red trooper lacked a firearm. There are a lot of guns on Earth, particularly in the USA. Even if CLU and his army succeeded in crossing into the real world, they would be gunned down as soon as people realized what was occurring.
