Pender landed a vicious uppercut near the end of the 3rd round which cut Adams' mouth. The Doctor stopped the fight between rounds. Pender was floored in the 5th by a right hand. The referee stopped the bout as Pender rose at the count of nine only to fall again to the canvas. Sampson was stopped because of a cut right eye.
