The £500 pounds white note is the Bank of England’s second highest denomination. Hand-signed by the Chief Cashier, the five hundred pounds note features a seated Britannia, the classical figure representing the British isles.

Great Britain 500 Pound Sterling White Note 1925 Bank of England
Signature: Cyril Patrick Mahon, Chief Cashier of the Bank of England, 1925–1929. The Bank's early notes were printed in black ink on creamy white paper. They consisted mainly of text, the only ornament being a small vignette of a seated Britannia in ornate circular frame, based on the Bank's official seal, value in black tablet low left.
