A deadly storm with winds topping 60 mph tore through central New Jersey on Thursday night, forcing one town to cancel its Fourth of July celebrations.

Friday and the weekend will feature similar weather patterns — seasonable temperatures with chances of afternoon storms each day. Highs will reach the upper 80s inland with temps a bit cooler along the Jersey Shore. Some sun is expected Saturday and Sunday.
