FDOT painted over a protest rainbow crosswalk near the Pulse massacre site, despite local resistance and remembrance efforts.

Crews from the Florida Department of Transportation removed the rainbow colors that were painted by protesters on a crosswalk near the Pulse Nightclub. The rainbow stripes were added on Friday in protest against FDOT removing the former crosswalk memorial that honored the 49 lives lost during the 2016 massacre.

People took matters into their own hands after the commemorative crosswalk was removed, and drew it back onto the ground.
