FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman has died after police say she was hit by a train in Fresno. Authorities say it happened in the area of Fruit and Ashlan avenues at about 10:30 am Saturday. When police arrived, they found the woman who had been hit. The Fresno County Coroner's Office has identified her as 66-year-old Josephine Rico.

A pedestrian was killed Saturday morning after she was struck by an Amtrak train in Fresno. Officers responded to Fruit Avenue, near Ashlan Avenue after receiving a call at 10:30 a.m. of a train colliding with a pedestrian. Officers located a woman who had been struck and killed by a train.
