This season, Bratt led New Jersey with 88 points (21 goals, 67 assists) in 81 games, and set a Devils/Kansas City Scouts/Colorado Rockies single-season record for assists. Bratt and Sam Reinhart of the Florida Panthers were the only NHL forwards with at least 80 points and 90 hits.

They came back to beat the Rangers in seven games after going down 2-0 in their first round series in 2023. Both of those first two losses were at home by 5-1 scores. It took winning two games at Madison Square Garden to tie that series. The Devils are down 2-0 in this series but have chances at the Prudential Center to take a game.

Jordan Martinook continued to haunt the Devils in the postseason, posting a goal and an assist as the Carolina Hurricanes beat New Jersey in Game 2.
