Rescuers searched Thursday for more than a dozen crew members who went missing after Yemen's Houthi rebels sank a ship in the Red Sea as the United States alleged the group may “have kidnapped” those on board.
Israel has launched airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah port and other Houthi-held areas, warning of more attacks as tensions in the region rise and violence spreads into Red Sea shipping lanes.
Meanwhile, two explosive devices were detonated against Israeli soldiers during an operation in the Beit Hanoun area in northern Gaza, killing five soldiers and injuring 14 more. The soldiers have been named as Meir Shimon Amar, Moshe Nissim Frech and Noam Aharon Musgadian, all aged 20, Benyamin Asulin, 28, and Moshe Shmuel Noll, 21.
TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Five Israeli soldiers were killed in an attack in Gaza, the Israeli military said Tuesday, while health officials in the Palestinian territory said 18 people were killed in Israeli strikes.
Airstrikes and shootings killed 94 Palestinians in Gaza overnight, including 45 who were attempting to get much-needed humanitarian aid, hospitals and the Health Ministry said Thursday.
