Some fans were upset after Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia received a contract extension Monday.

According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Rich Bisaccia and the Green Bay Packers have agreed on a contract extension to keep him as the team’s special teams coordinator for two more seasons. Bisaccia, who joined the Packers in 2022, had one year remaining on his contract.

Special teams errors played a significant role in the Packers' playoff exit — bad call aside, Keisean Nixon fumbling on the opening kickoff set the team back. Brandon McManus missing a field goal didn't help. A week earlier, the Chicago Bears fooled Bisaccia's unit to allow a punt-return touchdown.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, who brought Getsy aboard during the second half of the 2024 season as a defensive consultant, is re-hiring Getsy for a full-time role on the offensive side of the ball — although not for his previous job as quarterbacks coach.

The Packers had some good moments on special teams this season but, overall, struggled in almost every phase under Rich Bisaccia.
