Defensemen Jamie Oleksiak and Adam Larsson scored key goals as the Seattle Kraken defeated the visiting Buffalo Sabres 6-4 in a Monday matinee.
The Buffalo Sabres have now been swept in three-of-four season series against the Seattle Kraken. A 6-4 defeat on Monday at Climate Pledge Arena inexplicably dropped the blue and gold to 1-7-0 all-time against the Kraken.
Seattle has a 7-1 record all-time against the Sabres and has outscored them, 40-24. And remember, this is a fourth-year franchise that has only made the playoffs once and isn't likely to get there this year either.

Jared McCann had a goal and two assists while John Hayden, Chandler Stephenson, Matty Beniers, Jamie Oleksiak and Adam Larsson also scored for Seattle. Ryker Evans tallied a pair of assists, and goalie Joey Daccord stopped 25 of 29 shots. The Sabres went 1-for-3 on the power play and killed one of two shorthanded situations.

Buffalo Sabres goalie prospect Devon Levi is putting together a terrific season in the AHL. He’s 12-3-2 with a .913 save percentage, 2.33 goals-against average and two shutouts. He was named to the AHL All-Star Game. At that level, the 23-year-old has looked the part as one of hockey’s most promising goalie prospects.
The Sabres staged a comeback in the second period, tying the score at 3-3 on goals from Jason Zucker and Thompson. Once again, the Kraken responded quickly, with defenseman Jamie Oleksiak pinching down from the offensive blue line to bury a one-timer just 56 seconds after Thompson had scored the tying goal.
