The Austin Police Department (APD) said on Sunday, Jan. 26, at around 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 10000 block of southbound North Lamar Blvd. APD said the vehicle drove off after hitting the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are searching for a prisoner who escaped custody while undergoing testing at a hospital in Bellville, Texas, on Thursday.
