Celtics forward Anton Watson has gone from Boston to New York during his rookie season after being waived by the Celtics earlier this week.

Watson will become an unrestricted free agent if no NBA team claims him within the next 48 hours. The Celtics’ 2024 second-round pick (No. 54 overall) didn’t play on Sunday—and, in fact, hasn’t seen the court all season.

The former Boston Celtics draft pick was waived on Sunday, March 2, and has since been signed by the New York Knicks.

On Tuesday, the 24-year-old was claimed off waivers by the New York Knicks on a two-way contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The Celtics waived Watson on Monday to make room on their roster for two-way wing Miles Norris.
