Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session lower. Nifty 50 closed at 23,696.30, while Sensex ended at 78,271.28. Overnight Wall Street indices ended higher. Asian stocks too were in the green in early trade today.

Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, opened slightly higher on Thursday as optimism for an upcoming rate cut outweighed concerns over escalating global trade tensions. IT and oil & gas stocks supported the Nifty 50,

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,810 level, a premium of nearly 35 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
