Some teachers in Martin County are not happy with Governor Ron DeSantis' decision to end Florida Standards Assessments, or FSA testing, and replace it with what's known as progress monitoring.
Progress Monitoring replaced the FSA standardized test. For the first time, students in the 2022-2023 school year took tests at the beginning, middle, and end of the school year.
This practice is called “progress monitoring,” and concerns about lack of progress during the pandemic have shined a light on it. In theory, progress monitoring makes sense.
