On the back of demand for a key fob, Tesla recently started introducing fobs to select Model 3 owners in its early access program, Electrek reports. There’s nothing like having a physical key fob.

Tesla getting rid of the key fob signals the end of an era for the auto industry. The EV maker has proven a trendsetter, and other carmakers will likely follow suit, making people pay for a key fob.

At the time, we reported that Tesla started rolling out the Model 3 key fob to a lucky few owners in the early access program, but it is now becoming available to all Model 3 owners.

Tesla is no longer including key fobs as standard on the Tesla Model S and X. The cost-cutting move came into effect on July 1.
