Node.js doesn’t directly expose facilities for multiple-core concurrency. InfoQ has conducted a virtual panel with the creators of Node.js projects that deal with this issue.

On theCube last week Dahl explained that the big challenges for Node.js are now in the modules, rather than the core of Node.js. And the modules are where Schlueter has been focusing his work.

Currently, modules must be recompiled to work with new versions of Node.js and the JavaScript engine, which traditionally has been Google’s V8 engine.

“This release includes upgrades to other dependencies bundled with Node.js as well as incremental improvements to Node.js core modules,” Mikeal Rogers, Node community manager, said.

Priced at US$990 a month, Node.js Core Support is aimed at heavy commercial users of Node.js. The service will inspect Node.js systems and provide data to troubleshoot issues.
