Last week, DOJ officials asked the federal court to force Google to scalp Chrome from its business. Given that, it may be time for users to start looking for a new browser.

The Justice Department’s filing outlined a set of proposed remedies they want Google to undertake after a judge ruled that the company maintained an illegal monopoly in search.

Nominally, both Chrome and Android are open source, but Google ties both of them in with its proprietary services to help lock them down and boost its own ancillary products, according to the DOJ.
