Want to put Microsoft Office's popular apps on an iOS or Android device? Soon you won't have to download individual versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint to use them.

Microsoft has launched Office for Android and iOS in general availability so you no longer need to switch between Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps.

Beta users of Excel for Android were supposed to get the feature "soon," which turned out to be five months later — it's now live, and works pretty well for a first iteration.

Three years following their release on Android devices, Microsoft's Excel and PowerPoint apps have now reached more than 500 million installs on phones running Google's mobile operating system.
