Microsoft is making a preview edition of the new Paint 3D available for download right now if you're a Windows Insider.

Look for the download link reading "Get it now (free download): paint.net 4.1.6" to install and not the big green "Download" buttons found on the site, which lead to third-party advertisements.

If Paint 3D app cannot save your work or if it does not display the Export option, then you can use this keyboard shotcut or repair the app.
