A former security guard at a Beverly Hills building alleged that the rapper spat on her and scratched her nose with a fingernail during a verbal altercation.

A Los Angeles jury has cleared Cardi B of all civil assault charges brought against her by a former security guard Emani Ellis. The verdict arrived less than an hour after deliberation and finds Cardi B not liable for any wrongdoing stemming from an altercation outside a Beverly Hills medical office in 2018.

Cardi B said the security guard wants $24 million for alleged assault. A doctor testified the guard "smacked" the receptionist who tried to intervene.

Pop star Cardi B won a decisive court victory on Tuesday against a security guard who filed a $24 million lawsuit accusing the then-pregnant rap performer of physically assaulting her outside a Beverly Hills obstetrician's office in 2018.

Cardi’s lawyer, Peter Anderson, argued Ellis was the aggressor. “Plaintiff went berserk,” he said in his final comments to the jury. “Plaintiff advanced on Cardi, screaming and yelling, forcing Cardi backwards.”
