Freezing rain and significant icing was reported from the Plains all the way to the east coast. Up to .5” of ice was reported in areas like Louisville. This resulted in horrible driving conditions, many accidents, downed trees, downed power lines and power outages.

A low-pressure system is moving across the country, delivering rain, snow, and ice to much of the southeast. This same system will be making its way along the east coast early this weekend, bringing a chance for accumulating snow to the tri-state.

Storm Watch has been posted for the impending winter weather that’s expected to move in Thursday. While it may begin as a rain/sleet/snow mix, snow will overspread much of North Texas through the day and continue Thursday night.
