SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - One more First Alert Weather Day continues today due to dangerously cold wind chills. We’re primarily seeing this just this morning though, as wind chills will actually make quite an improvement through the daytime! While we’ll have the usual January chill for the rest of the week still, at least it won’t be quite as frigid.

Your Wednesday will be a lot warmer than it has been the past few days. We are forecasting to see highs in the mid 30s across Siouxland. Although the temperatures will be warmer, we do have a chance of some light snow throughout the day. The best chance of snow will be in the afternoon and early evening hours.

Freezing cold air remains locked in place Wednesday morning. Scattered snow showers move across the area by late morning or early afternoon. Snow showers will continue throughout the early evening, and upwards of 1 inch of snow accumulation is possible.

Members of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee received a memo Tuesday saying that the department is eliminating the membership of all advisory committees as part of a “commitment to eliminating the misuse of resources and ensuring that DHS activities prioritize our national security.
