The head of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has pinned blame on the near-collision at a Chicago airport earlier this week on the crew of the private jet that passed in front of a landing Southwest flight.

National Transportation Safety Board chair Jennifer Homendy says investigations are ongoing into the near-miss between a Southwest airliner and a Flexjet in Chicago.

Southwest Flight 2504 performed a precautionary "go-around" to avoid hitting a private jet that entered the runway "without authorization."
