Chipotle Mexican Grill recently announced a partnership with Zipline to offer autonomous drone delivery for digital orders in the greater Dallas area, beginning with a pilot at its Rowlett, TX location and intending to expand service and hours soon.

Chipotle said it could consider expanding the drone delivery test with Zipline based on how the Dallas area rollout performs.

Then, Chipotle staff will place the food orders at locations where they can be picked up by the drones, which will then fly to customers’ homes. The company says that Zipline’s drones will hover “about 300 feet in the air” while a little carrier that contains the food is lowered to the ground.
