Sukiya announced on June 1 that it will abandon single-staff morning shifts by the end of this month, in addition to previous steps it had taken to remove single-staffer overnight shifts.
The Sukiya restaurant chain says it will raise prices of its gyudon offerings by as much as 50 yen, or about 30 cents. The popular dishes are typically a bowl of rice topped with sliced beef.
