The engine is flexible, pulling well below 3000rpm, and really hard beyond that. You really don’t need to put much effort into driving it quickly, something the GTI has always been good at.
It's a shame nobody cares about manual transmissions or hot hatches anymore because the GTI is still the undisputed king.
