Secrets Manager enables customers to store and retrieve application secrets via API or the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) and rotate credentials with built in or custom AWS Lambda functions.

AWS Secrets Manager will allow customers to exert more control over who is allowed to access certain credentials, and it does that by using AWS Lambda, the company’s serverless computing service.
