First responders also brought one person to the hospital to be treated and evaluated for a "medical situation unrelated to the fire," the fire department said.

The victim was identified as Jose A. Maldonado, 66, of Hartford. The fire was on the top floor of the Juniper House at 636 Prospect Ave. and confined to only one apartment, the chief said.
