President Trump is calling up the D.C. National Guard and federal law enforcement to address crime in the capital.

President Trump mentioned New York, Baltimore, Chicago and other cities as places where he may deploy the National Guard to crack down on crime.

SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge in San Francisco is weighing whether the Trump administration violated federal law by sending National Guard troops to accompany immigration agents on raids in Southern California. A three-day trial on the matter concluded Wednesday.

The Trump administration is expanding National Guard support at immigration detention sites. Florida activated troops on Tuesday.

The Florida National Guard has been headquartered in St. Augustine since 1907 and has a membership of more than nearly 10,000 Army National Guard personnel and more than 1,900 Air National Guardsmen.

By serving with units near or in the community from which they come, National Guard Soldiers and Airmen provide a community-connected presence for our military throughout the United States.

At least 16 states and territories are using the National Guard to give shots, drawing on doctors, nurses, medics and other troops who are skilled in administering injections.
