Musk slammed a Trump-backed $500 billion AI joint venture building out OpenAI’s artificial general intelligence.

Elon Musk is clashing with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman over the Stargate artificial intelligence infrastructure project touted by President Donald Trump, the latest in a feud between the two billionaires that started on OpenAI's board and is now testing Musk's influence with the new presidential administration.

Trump announced a $500 billion joint venture between OpenAI, Softbank, MGX and Oracle to build new datacenters to power the next wave of AI.

Stargate "will be the most important project of this era,” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said Tuesday alongside Trump.

Under the Trump administration, OpenAI and other members of the tech sector are making a push to establish AI dominance in the U.S.
