Most of the jet fuel onboard the U.S.-flagged tanker Stena Immaculate that was hit by a container ship in a collision off Britain's coast remains contained and only two of the vessel's 18 fuel tanks have leaked,

"Both vessels have sustained significant damage in the impact of the collision and the subsequent fire," Solong's Hamburg-based owner, Ernst Russ, said in a statement. "13 of the 14 Solong crew members have been brought safely shore. Efforts to locate the missing crew member are ongoing."

The revelation comes as the owner of the Solong, Ernst Russ, confirmed the captain who has been arrested by Humberside Police is a Russian national. The 59-year-old man arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter after a collision between a tanker and a cargo ship in the North Sea remains in custody, police have said.
