GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Gainesville city leaders say they will start covering up rainbow crosswalks downtown on Monday. At the start of August, city commissioners voted to remove the crosswalks to comply with a state order. The order requires intersections and crosswalks to be free of “distractions” by September 4th.
