When constructing this roster to give this team the best possible chance of winning the World Series, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski decided to double-down on starting pitching when he acquired Jesus Luzardo from the Miami Marlins this past offseason.

Phillies ace Zack Wheeler will miss the remainder of the season and is expected to be out for six to eight months after being diagnosed with venous thoracic outlet syndrome, the team announced Saturday.

Wheeler was diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome and will require additional surgery that's expected to sideline him for six to eight months.
