The NL lineup of Kyle Stowers, Kyle Schwarber and Pete Alonso bested the AL trio of Brent Rooker, Randy Arozarena and Jonathan Aranda in the MLB All-Star Game’s first-ever swing-off.

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso, who made his fifth All-Star Game appearance of his seven-year career on Tuesday, was poised to play a big role in what was the first-ever "swing-off" that decided who won the game.

While speaking to media ahead of the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, Alonso, who is making his his fifth All-Star appearance, suggested that players should not get ejected for charging the mound or fighting. Instead, he believes MLB should follow hockey's style, which tolerates fighting to happen between players during games.
