KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Monday marked six years since Tamela Moore was shot and killed in Knoxville. Moore’s case is one of many listed on Knoxville Police Department’s unsolved murders list. She died following a shooting on Speedway Circle on on November, 11, 2018.

An axe-wielding man was shot by Knoxville police and hospitalized; the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is probing the incident.

Police said they were called to the 2600 block of Fairview Street on the city's northeast side because the man had an axe. "Shots were fired after officers encountered the man," police wrote.
