In her quest to become the nation’s first female president and first woman of color chief executive, Vice President Kamala Harris is in Atlanta on Friday. The Harris presidential campaign confirmed her appearance and said the Democratic presidential nominee’s focus will be on reproductive care.

Earlier this week, Harris highlighted the death of Amber Thurman, a Georgia mother featured Monday in an in-depth ProPublica report that said hers was the first time an abortion-related death officially deemed "preventable" has surfaced following the overturning of Roe v. Wade and subsequent enforcement of state abortion bans.
