Frank Caprio judge for the Providence Municipal Court in Rhode Island has died, his son, David Caprio announced. He was 88 years old.
Born in 1936 in Providence, Rhode Island, Caprio served as a judge from 1985 to 2023. He gained national recognition for his fair and humane courtroom demeanor, often forgiving minor offenses and offering kind words, especially to those in financial or personal hardship.
The Rhode Island jurist passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer, his family announced on social media. Caprio served as chief judge of the municipal court of Providence, Rhode Island, from 1985 to 2023. He is survived by his wife Joyce Caprio, five children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
