A Jewish man who fired 17 shots at two Israelis in Miami Beach because he believed them to be Palestinians is now facing fresh hate-crime charges, says the Miami-Dade mayor. Mordechai Brafman, 27, was originally charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder Tuesday after he shot two Israeli nationals in the street on a busy Saturday night because he wrongly believed them to be Palestinians.

An investigation is underway in Palmetto Bay after a fatal crash involving a vehicle and bicyclist on Wednesday morning, deputies said. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at Southwest 160th Street between 81st and 82nd avenues.
