The sports of stockcar racing and women’s basketball are crossing paths again this weekend in Daytona at the Coke Zero Sugar 400, where LSU superstar guard Flau’Jae Johnson will wave the green flag as the race’s honorary starter.

NASCAR released its 2026 Cup Series schedule on Wednesday, Aug. 20. The season runs from February through November, including the playoffs that begin in October. Unlike previous seasons, the NASCAR championship will not be held in Phoenix. The two NASCAR dates in Phoenix are Mar. 8 and Oct. 18.
