Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw reached a historic milestone on Wednesday when he notched his 3,000th career strikeout.

On a night that said plenty about the 18-year relationship between Kershaw and the Dodgers and Kershaw and the fan base, the left-hander showed why he stands alone among the 20 names on the list.

There is a new member of the 3,000-strikeout club. On Wednesday night, Los Angeles Dodgers icon Clayton Kershaw became the 20th pitcher in baseball history to record 3,000 career strikeouts, and only the fourth left-hander. He fanned Vinny Capra of the Chicago White Sox for the milestone strikeout.
