The largest of the blazes, the Palisades Fire, is more than 37 square miles. That’s more than half the land size of Washington, D.C. A second fire, the Eaton Fire, is now more than 22 square miles. The Palisades Fire threatens thousands of structures inside the fire’s perimeter.

Exactly a week after the devastating and deadly Eaton and Palisades fires broke out, several evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect throughout Los Angeles County.

The Air Quality Index measured 156 near Forks, Washington, and received a rating of "unhealthy," meaning some members of the general public may experience health effects and members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects. No major wildfires were reported nearby, however.
