The federal judge's denial of President Donald Trump's motion came Wednesday, just a day before Trump was set to visit the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

President Donald Trump has dropped his lawsuit against the Des Moines Register and pollster Ann Selzer over their poll published three days before the 2024 election that showed then-Vice President Kamala Harris was beating the Republican nominee in Iowa.

On Monday, Trump’s attorneys Edward Paltzik and Alan Ostergren filed a Notice of Dismissal informing the court that all plaintiffs were dismissing the case without prejudice, theoretically meaning that the complaint could be refiled later before the statute of limitations runs.
