Hi, You can prebook you tickets or you can queue. If you queue the ticket office is just inside down some steps. You can buy a combined ticket or just a ticket for the roof. The lift goes straight to the roof and back down. You must walk up to the museum. The views from the roof are quiet exceptional and there are plenty of photo opportunities. It's a great experience.
Is it recommended to buy tickets online before going to the Mole or still possible to get tickets for the panoramic lift on the day of visiting?

In June getting a ticket on the day of the visit was no problem at all. I would recommend to wait for a really clear day. The ticket is about 7.- (if I remember well) just for the elevator.
