They advertise an old steam train ride. I booked and paid for a steam train ride. I was NOT given a steam train ride but instead it was a regular diesel train. Not what was advertised, what I wanted,…Full review by Allan B

May i know what is the shortest trip on this train that we can still enjoy the train and scenery? We will be driving a car so preferably the station should have a parking lot too. Wondering if we can buy the train tickets on the spot too?

Parking is available, but availability depends on the time of day. If it is a busy period, you may not be able to buy tickets on board. Buying tickets on-line is quite easy. Shorter trips may be available, but you might have to wait around. Most of the carriages are enclosed, which would be good for your toddler. Personally, I would pre-book the tickets and take the train to the Belgrave terminus. It is then only a sort walk to Puffing Billy.
I heard the train “requires some agility to board”. What does this mean? Is the step high?
A:
Hi Gary, the step require 45 degree knee lifted for my height(175cm). Means if one is having knee issue or slightly heavy will need some effort to climb up.
