Dr. Broussard is a graduate of LSU in Baton Rouge where he also undertook graduate study. He earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. (Doctors of osteopathic medicine are fully-licensed physicians who practice in all areas of medicine and emphasize a whole-person approach to treatment and care.) He served a residency in the Department of Psychiatry at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport where he was chief resident. Dr. Broussard is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and was named a Distinguished Fellow in 2015. He is a member of the Shreveport Medical Society and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
